Saint Louis University offers more than 45 study abroad programs all over the world, including at our Madrid, Spain, campus.
Study for your biology class on the Spanish steps in Rome. Gain international business experience through an internship in Belgium. Volunteer with a local non-governmental organization in the Philippines.
Wherever you go, you’ll expand your worldview; gain an appreciation and understanding of a different culture; and become a better thinker, problem solver and compassionate individual.
Whether you want to travel for as long as a year or as little as a week, all SLU-approved programs can be found through our online database. Sort, share and compare them to find exactly what you want.
You can participate in study abroad programs that are not officially sanctioned by SLU, but the process is a little different. Whether it’s a program at a university where you’ve always wanted to study or an opportunity to intern in another country, we can help you experience the world on your own terms.
Most students study abroad their sophomore or junior year. Talk to your academic adviser early in your time at SLU to determine which semester will be best for you and which courses might be involved. Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing in order to apply and to study abroad.
If you’re a transfer student, you must spend at least one semester at our St. Louis, Missouri, campus before applying to go abroad.
Your application is due one semester before you wish to study abroad (see below for dates). If you are not able to complete your application by the recommended deadline, please contact the study abroad team for additional information.
