Strategies for Rhetoric and Research MOO Commands for Creating Objects on Connections Creating Objects @create $thing named <name of object> creates a basic object @addalias <desired alias> to <name of object> adds additional names to the object @rename <object> to <new name> give the object a new name @describe <object> as "<description>" provide a description for a created object @messages <object name> allows you to see the object's messages. @integrate_room <object> is "<description>" customize the message that announces an object's presence in a room (don't use this command with furniture!) @integrate_player <object> is "%Tld %tl:(is) carrying %ti." customize the message that a player is carrying the object. Note, you can replace "carrying" with "wearing," "holding," or whatever you prefer. <@message> <object> is "" will remove a message (for instance, if I wanted to remove the @integrate_player message on an object named ball, I would enter: <@integrate_player ball is ""> ) Working with your objects@audit me gives you a list of all the objects you own, their aliases, and their location @move <object number of your object> to me will move your object to you. Useful if someone has run off with something you own. @lock <object> with here locks the object so no one, including yourself can pick it up until it is unlocked. @lock <object> with me locks the object so that only you can pick it up @unlock <object> unlocks an object. @set <object>.proper to 1 gets rid of articles for unique objects @set <object>.proper to 0 returns objects to the default so that they use articles @chparent <name> to <desired generic> this command lets you change the parent of your object.
