The following selection is drawn from Zanchi's commentary on the book of Ephesians in which he devotes a number of pages to considering the final verses of the second chapter of that book. The translation is my own and doubtless contains a host of errors. While his Latin style is, in general, quite straight forward and even simplistic, Zanchi at times employs more difficult grammatical constructions. I have tried to make obvious when I was not certain about the proper translation of a passage by including the Latin and alternate options in brackets in the text. The pagination is drawn from A.H. de Hartog's late nineteenth century edition of the Latin text published as volumes five and six of the Bibliotheca Reformata, (Amstelodami: J.A. Wormser, 1888-1899).
