Fact:

• "One out of every five abortions is performed on a college woman."  -Feminists for Life
• "1 out of 10 women in college become pregnant each year."  -Feminists for Life

Reality:

• Despite the need, there are no significant resources available to pregnant and parenting students at Saint Louis University (financial, housing, or childcare)
• We almost never see pregnant students or small children on SLU's campus

Perception:

• SLU is not a welcoming environment for pregnant or parenting students - No resources are available
• Students much choose between staying at SLU and achieving their goals and having a baby

Belief:

Students for Life is challenging this reality and perception. We believe that no student should have to choose between having an education and having a child. This scholarship is the first step in bringing resources to women on campus, whether they are students, faculty, or staff. Our hope with this scholarship is that no student has to choose between school and having her child. ↑
