The
Saint Louis University Interfraternity Council serves as the governing
body over all social fraternities, and constantly strives to promote
the social and professional benefits of Greek life to the University.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is perhaps most visible during
Formal Rush. It is at this time that the IFC, and the Rush Director,
in particular, labor to ensure that all rushes are afforded a fair
opportunity to educate themselves about the individual chapters
and the system as a whole. After all, selecting a fraternity is
an important lifetime decision. The SLU IFC also represents the
system at regional and national conferences and conventions. While
rush is a vital part of the IFC's duties, many other functions fall
under its jurisdiction. Coordinating community service efforts for
local charities, fostering communication and exchange among chapters,
compiling and verifying intramural points, and recruiting prospective
students to SLU are but a few of the activities in which the IFC
participates.
