It's a basic truth - when you feel well physically and mentally, you function well. Unfortunately, things don't always go as smoothly as you would like. Little things (and sometimes big ones) can get in the way of taking care of yourself and doing well. This makes it difficult to do and feel your best.
We will be closed the following times during the summer for staff meetings and professional development:Wednesday, July 11 all day Friday, July 13 we will close at noon Thursday, August 2 all day
Whether it is a sore throat or feeling stressed and worn down, the Student Health Center is here to help you. We are trained professionals committed to providing quality care to Saint Louis University students.
Contact the Student Health Center for more information about our services or to make an appointment.
In the event of a medical or psychiatric emergency, you should call 911 immediately and arrange for ambulance transportation to the nearest hospital.
We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding university holidays. We remain open with limited services and clinic schedules during spring, fall, and summer breaks.
Walk-in hours for nurse services like drug screens, fit tests, immunizations and allergy shots are from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We have a nurse advice line after hours and on weekends. You may call our same number, 314-977-2323, and ask to speak with one of our nurses. They can give advice or direct you to a local urgent care for non-emergency care. We most commonly refer to the Total Access - Tower Grove location. They are open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays.
There is also a counselor from the University Counseling Center on call after hours and on weekends. To reach them you may call our same number, or 314-977-8255 (TALK), and ask to speak to a counselor instead of a nurse.
Visits with our physicians are made by appointment. However, we often have cancellations and can get students in quickly. Students can always come in and speak with a nurse during clinics to determine the best course of action.
Please call 314-977-2323 to schedule your appointment. If you have an appointment you cannot make - please let us know. Even if it is an hour before it may help us to get someone else in. Not showing up for a scheduled appointment could result in a $20 no show fee.
To save time at registration, or for students who are minors and will need parents to sign forms for them to be seen, you can fill out our new patient paperwork ahead of your scheduled appointment.
The Student Health Center is located on the ground floor of Marchetti Tower East, just south of the Busch Student Center. Our physical address is 3518 Laclede Ave, though the building address (advertised on the blue awning as you walk in) is 3520 Laclede - we are the suite directly to the right when coming from the Laclede entrance.
There are a few parking spaces reserved in the lot in front of Marchetti Towers for both Student Health and Physical Therapy. If you park in one of these spots, please bring your vehicle information, including license plate, to the front desk staff when you check in. If those spots are full, the nearest parking garage is the Laclede lot, half a block west of Grand Blvd. on Laclede Ave.
The SLU Student Health Center offers a wide range of services covering the basic cold to specialized care of preexisting medical conditions. We're here for you, whether it's a quick flu shot to keep you healthy, advice on vaccines before spending a semester abroad, or ongoing physical therapy to help you recover from an injury.
