Membership in SPHS is $50 per person, or $20 for students or those whose income is low. We welcome your participation in the Society. The cost of membership covers the registration fee for the annual conference. (Persons who present papers at the annual conference are expected to be members of the Society.)
Each year the annual conference of SPHS will be held in conjunction with the annual meetings of the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy (SPEP) and will take place in October or November.
The membership year runs from conference to conference, and extends from the first day after the annual conference ends to the last day of the conference in the following year. Therefore, the membership dues paid by new members who are joining the Society for the first time will include the registration fee for the next conference.
SPHS members have the option of subscribing to Human Studies: A Journal for Philsophy and the Social Sciences at a discounted rate. Many members also join the SPHS Email Discussion List, which is free to anyone.
If you are interested in joining, please send your name, address, phone and email, and institutional affiliation, together with a check or money order payable in US dollars, directly to the attention of SPHS Treasurer Lenore Langsdorf. Dr. Langsdorf is also the contact person for members wishing to subscribe to Human Studies. Feel free to use our printable form to join SPHS, or to distribute information about SPHS at related conferences.
