Saint Louis University is ranked among the top Jesuit universities in the country, but academics aren’t our only point of pride. SLU is recognized as a character-building college. U.S. News & World Report

For 2018, SLU was listed 94 out of the country's top 311 national universities, with individual rankings for top undergraduate programs in entrepreneurship (No. 9), international business (No. 12) and accounting (No. 33). Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked SLU among the "Best Colleges for Veterans" and named SLU to its top-50 "Best Values Schools" list.

The Princeton Review

SLU's excellence is noted in both The Best 381 Colleges: 2017 Edition and The Best 295 Business Schools. In addition to being named one of the best U.S. colleges overall, SLU was included on lists ranking the nation’s top-25 entrepreneurship programs — both undergraduate and graduate.

The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education 

SLU is one of only nine Catholic universities to receive a Carnegie Classification of “higher” or “highest” research activity.

Forbes: 'America's Top Colleges' 2017

Forbes’  list of more than 650 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education, as well as student experiences and achievements.

Fiske Guide to Colleges 2016

This listing of the 322 "best and most interesting" schools in the United States, Canada and Great Britain is based on the quality of academic offerings and student responses on a variety of topics.

Niche’s Top-15 Catholic Colleges

SLU ranks No. 11 on the 2018 list. Niche bases its rankings on key statistics and student reviews.

Center for World University

From eight objective indicators, such as the number of alumni and faculty who’ve earned international awards, SLU ranked No. 374 out of 1,000 universities from nearly 60 countries — among the top 1.4 percent of all colleges and universities worldwide.

Philosophical Gourmet Report

SLU has the No.3 medieval philosophy doctoral program in the English­-speaking world, according to the 2017-2018 Philosophical Gourmet Report. SLU's graduate programs in philosophy currently rank No. 49 overall.

Outstanding Community Service and Student Engagement

Learning outcomes improve when students are curious, interested or passionate — in other words, “engaged.” At SLU, service is integrated into academics, extracurricular activities and nearly all we do, and the nation has taken notice. 

President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll 

For nine consecutive years, SLU has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-­learning and civic engagement. SLU was the only institution in Missouri to earn distinction in the area of interfaith service.

Washington Monthly: 'Best Schools for Community Service'

For the fifth consecutive year, Washington Monthly ranked SLU No. 4 in the country for community service in its “2015 College Guide.”

Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification

This honor recognizes institutions' commitment to engaging with local, national and global communities. Nationwide, only 361 institutions hold the classification, and only 83 received the designation in 2015.

The Templeton Guide

The John Templeton Foundation named SLU one of 325 colleges and universities nationwide that promotes character growth among the student body.

National Survey of Student Engagement

According to a 2014 survey, SLU students reported feeling more engaged than their counterparts at other major research institutions around the country, especially in the areas of community service and collaboration with other students.

A Best Value and Welcoming Campus

A college education is a significant investment. So it’s especially rewarding when the experts recognize SLU’s efforts to keep tuition affordable and to ensure that all students, including veterans, can achieve a Saint Louis University education.

Kiplinger's Best Values in Private Colleges

SLU ranked No. 56 on Kiplinger's list of the 100 top values in American private universities for 2016. Rankings considered cost and financial aid, student indebtedness, competitiveness, graduation rates and academic support.

Barron's Best Buys in College Education

SLU was named one of approximately 220 U.S. colleges and universities that provides a "first­-class education at affordable prices." In the publication, Barron's 11th edition calls SLU an "urban research university that refuses to act like one, caring for each individual as a total person and drawing its undergraduates into the life of the surrounding community."

Victory Media's 'Military Friendly Schools'

The 2016 edition recognizes colleges that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students, including efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, and academic accreditations.

Campus Sustainability

Sustainability is a priority at Saint Louis University. It is our goal to reduce energy and water use institution wide by 20 percent by 2020. SLU has received national recognition for these and other efforts.

STARS Silver Rating for Sustainability

SLU’s silver rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) recognizes our sustainability policies in dining services, water management innovation and other areas.

The Princeton Review

SLU was named one of the nation’s top green schools in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 375 Green Colleges: 2017 Edition. The guide profiled colleges with exceptional commitments to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus policies and programming.

Sierra Magazine’s 'Cool Schools'

The Sierra Club ranked SLU among the top 100 green universities. 

Arbor Day Foundation’s “Tree Campus USA” 

SLU is one of eight institutions in Missouri, and only the second Jesuit institution, to be rewarded by the Arbor Day Foundation for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

Campus Life and Attractions

With such a vibrant campus, it’s no wonder Saint Louis University has been lauded for its beautiful urban setting and historic buildings.

50 Most Amazing College Chapels and Churches

St. Francis Xavier College Church was ranked No. 23 on this list by theologydegrees.org. In addition, the church was recognized by collegeranker.com on its 2015 “50 Most Beautiful College Campus Wedding Venues” list. At No. 2, SLU is the only university in Missouri, and the only Jesuit school in the nation, on the list.

Best Dining Hall

Spoon University, powered by more than 3,000 student contributors at 100 college campuses, listed SLU’s Fresh Gatherings as one of best dining halls in the country.

Top College Museums

Saint Louis University Museum of Art is No. 4 among the top 50 college and university museums in the nation, according to CollegeRank.net. SLUMA was the only museum in Missouri on the list.
